Compensation: $85,000 to $97,000 plus benefits

About the Opportunity: 
Reporting to the Oregon State Director, the Oregon Clean Energy Policy Manager will manage a clean energy policy portfolio to drive progress toward Oregon’s 100% clean energy goals, build partnerships and deepen collaboration with coalition and community partners, and design and implement cross-cutting advocacy campaigns.  

KEY PRIORITIES DURING YOUR FIRST YEAR

What You’ll Achieve:

Clean Energy Policy Strategy & Implementation 

  • Manage a clean energy policy portfolio to drive progress toward Oregon’s 100% clean energy goals, including through scaling up renewable energy projects and incentives, accelerating siting and permitting, and overcoming other state and federal regulatory and market barriers to an equitable clean energy transition. 
  • Work closely with the Oregon Director and Clean Energy Policy Director to develop, advance, implement, and defend clean energy policy progress through regulatory, legislative, and administrative arenas.
  • Monitor and respond to emerging state and federal policies impacting Oregon's renewable energy transition.

Stakeholder Engagement & Coalition-Building

  • Build and nurture trust-based partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including environmental justice, tribal, rural, business, and labor community members, utilities, renewable developers, and policymakers at the state and local levels. 
  • Mobilize and sustain diverse stakeholder collaboration to amplify collective power in legislative and regulatory proceedings and public campaigns.
  • Advance equitable clean energy policy progress through deep collaboration with coalition and community-based partners, aligning strategies with frontline leadership and issue area expertise.

Cross-cutting Campaigns & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Partner with the Communications team to develop strategic communications campaigns that engage and reach diverse audiences – from legislators, labor unions, and utility commissions, to frontline communities and workers. 
  • Design and implement cross-cutting advocacy campaigns that build support for clean energy solutions through strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and grassroots mobilization.

TRAVEL: This is a hybrid role based in Portland, OR, with a combination of remote and in-person internal meetings (2-3x/week) and external partner meetings, events, and trainings. There is flexibility in how you structure your travel and days.
